Habitat description

Mostly streams, but sometimes headwaters, in open landscapes or shaded by gallery forest. Often calmer sections (like pools) with emergent vegetation, coarse detritus, rocks and/or a soft (like muddy) bottom. From 1500 to 1900 m above sea level, but mostly above 1700 and possibly up to 3300.
