Type locality: Lake Chila, Zambia
Diagnosis
Male is similar to N. nigeriensis by largely red S7-10. However, differs by (1) ranging from N Zambia to Gabon; (2) smaller size, Hw 28-31 mm; (3) S1-5 and often base of S6 darkened and pruinose, S6-8 largely red, S9-10 laterally black. [Adapted from Dijkstra & Clausnitzer 2014]
Habitat description
Standing waters in open landscapes. Often boggy, usually with emergent vegetation. From 1000 to 1800 m above sea level.
