Type locality: Lomami, Kambaye, DRC

Diagnosis

Male differs from other Gomphidia species by (1) ranging from Gabon and Kenya to Namibia and South Africa, often in open habitats; (2) cerci rather straight like fingers (dorsal view) and only weakly curved up (lateral view); (3) epiproct only about 1/8 as long as cerci, its branches short and rounded, without teeth, cleft wide. Habitat description

Rivers and streams in open landscapes or open areas in forest. Often with rocks and a sandy and/or probably gravelly bottom, and probably coarse detritus. From 0 to 1500 m above sea level.
