Type locality: Jinja, Uganda

Diagnosis

Male is unmistakable by combination of (1) being restricted to papyrus swamps, currently known only from Uganda; (2) relatively large size, Hw 11-14 mm; (3) labrum all black, rather than pale or dark with pale border; (4) cerci much longer than paraprocts and very broad, like paddle. Habitat description

Flowing channels in marshes, but possibly also rivers and standing waters, in open landscapes. Usually with emergent and often aquatic vegetation, notably papyrus. From 1100 to 1600 m above sea level.
